Summary Description:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Machine Operator is responsible for producing high-quality products efficiently and cost-effectively. The Machine Operator monitors and operates production line machinery in accordance with established standard operating procedures for each customer.
Essential Job Functions:
•
Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in warehouse or production areas.
•
Comply with food quality and food safety standards established by corporate, customers, and/or governing bodies (e.g., SQF).
•
Read, understand, and follow the production schedule; communicate issues or deviations to the appropriate parties.
•
Maintain production flow by monitoring upstream and downstream conditions, supplying raw materials to equipment, and performing minor servicing as needed.
•
Follow all Quality Assurance and Production line standard operating procedures.
•
Perform equipment changeovers according to SOPs; read both imperial and metric measurements.
•
Record required information for production and quality records; maintain accurate downtime reports and documentation.
•
Perform equipment and general sanitation in your work area or as assigned by leadership.
•
Collaborate with all departments to improve quality, increase efficiency, and reduce waste.
•
Recognize visual and auditory cues to identify production or machine-related issues.
•
Perform minor machine maintenance.
•
Perform other duties as assigned, including cross-training, sanitation, inventory management, and training.
Required Skills:
•
Experience in a high-speed production environment; beverage production experience preferred.
•
Ability to develop a solid understanding of production machinery and forklifts.
•
Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
•
Proficiency in basic mathematics.
•
Ability to understand and interpret gauges, thermometers, and weight measurements.
•
Formal training in WHMIS, HACCP, and hygiene preferred.
•
Forklift certification may be required.

Education and Experience:
•
High school diploma or equivalent.
•
1–3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Working Conditions:
•
Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoons, evenings, overnight, and holidays may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
•
Work Environment: Fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Hearing protection is required; temperatures may be very hot and/or relatively cold. The environment is structured and supervised.
