PROMAN Staffing is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to support and maintain cold heading and threading equipment in a high‑volume manufacturing environment. This role is primarily maintenance‑driven, focused on troubleshooting, repairing, adjusting, and optimizing complex cold heading machinery to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production.
Job Details for Maintenance Mechanic:
- Schedule: 2nd shift - 3:50PM - 11:50PM M-F
- Pay: Based on experience
- Temporary 90 day assignment
Job Responsibilities for Maintenance Mechanic:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on cold heading, threading, and related production equipment.
- Perform equipment repairs, rebuilds, and mechanical adjustments while maintaining close tolerances.
- Support machine changeovers by assisting with set‑ups, tear‑downs, and tooling changes as needed.
- Remove, repair, and reinstall tooling components; identify root causes of tooling or machine failures.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities, including lubrication, inspections, and wear part replacement.
- Maintain machine performance through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.
- Verify proper operation following repairs and adjustments; support production start‑ups when required.
- Read and understand mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and part prints.
- Complete required maintenance documentation, SPC checks, and equipment records.
- Maintain safe work practices and strong housekeeping standards.
- Assist with training operators on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks as needed.
- Follow all safety rules, maintenance procedures, and company policies.
- Perform other maintenance‑related duties as required to support business needs.
Job Requirements for Maintenance Mechanic:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3+ years of hands‑on industrial maintenance experience, preferably supporting cold heading, forming, stamping, or similar manufacturing equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience repairing complex machinery.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience (controls, sensors, motors, and basic wiring).
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues and perform effective repairs with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in math and measurement; comfortable working with tight tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret part prints, mechanical drawings, and schematics.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance logs, data entry, and communication.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
