We are currently accepting resumes for two Field Cyber Communications Specialist I / Field Cyber Communications Specialist II support operations in Northern Region (Eastern Illinois, Central/Southern Indiana, Southwestern Ohio and Western, KY)
Must live within 30 miles of Leesville, IN
Job Summary:
- Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of SCADA Radio MAS telemetry systems, Data Concentrator/RTU facilities, wired & ireless networking and LAN equipment, telephone KSA, Voice-Over-IP & voicemail systems, cellular router equipment, solar power packages (12 VDC & 24 VDC), VSAT equipment for real-time SCADA, T1s, fiber optic cable and other hardwire circuits, security systems (including remote cameras and automated gate equipment), applicable two-way radio facilities, tower lighting control equipment, and facility alarm systems.
- Eventually taking sole responsibility for all field communications-related issues within the assigned area and providing interim support for neighboring regions as required.
- Reporting directly to the area Field Cyber Communications Supervisor.
- The specialist will support multiple compressor stations, offices, and block valve/interconnect facilities across their Southern Region.
- Successful candidates will work out of one of the preferred field offices based on business needs.
- Candidates must reside within 30 miles of their assigned facility to respond promptly to callouts.
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of technical experience in communications within the utilities or wireless industry, or equivalent background.
- Strong technical aptitude and proficiency with PC hardware, software, and LAN equipment.
- Solid understanding of basic AC and DC power fundamentals.
- Knowledge of grounding principles as applied to equipment and power systems.
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills to prioritize and schedule tasks efficiently for maximum benefit to our client.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Analytical mindset with logical problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Familiarity with FCC rules and regulations relevant to licensed radio systems and equipment.
- Effective verbal communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to clearly explain technical issues in straightforward terms to employees at all levels, both corporate and field.
- Highly self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to carry test equipment and materials weighing up to 50 lbs for distances of 50 feet.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to personal safety, as well as the safety of company personnel, assets, and the public.
- Adaptable to organizational changes and evolving priorities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in a relevant technical field.
