We are now hiring for a Raw Material / Scrap Associate who is a team player, versatile, and dependable!
Resumes are required along with a clean background and must be able to pass a drug screen.
Shift Schedule:
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM | Monday through Friday
- Over-time (Mandatory) is likely to occur. Ensure you can work a minimum of 10 hours per scheduled work shift.
- Weekend Schedules (Mandatory) can occur and will be communicated based on customers needs.
Job Summary:
- Conduct quality audits to support Improved Scrap Segregation & Scrap Utilization.
- Operating efficiently & effectively to conduct daily detailed scrap/quality audits throughout the Mill Areas using hand-held spectrometer device.
- Conduct detailed investigation/follow-up on off-analysis events/quality issues and provide feedback.
- Communicate with Mill Area Supervisors and Technical Advisors to support increased Scrap Segregation and scrap consumption.
- Create and maintain quality audit documentation/tracking tools, prepare analysis of results vs established targets and goals for improvement.
- Communicate quality audit results vs. established targets & goals to support Scrap Segregation improvements.
- Develop working knowledge of alloy chemistries and alloy grouping listing.
Note: The duties listed above are not exhaustive. Responsibilities may evolve and be adjusted based on the operational needs and strategic priorities of customer.
Position Requirements:
- Ability to perform physical tasks involving extended periods of standing, lifting, bending stooping, handling materials, repetitive motions.
- Able to lift 40lbs. regularly throughout the work shift.
- Work with all team members in other departments to resolve problems or make improvements.
- Willingness to cross-train and work other areas/stations in the plant on short notice and as needed.
- Comfortable working in non-temperature-controlled environments.
- May wear PPE (personal protective equipment) for long periods.
- Steel Toe Boots are required.
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or GED
- Strong analytical & mathematical skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work on multiple project assignments, work overtime hours if necessary.
- Strong organizational, administration, presentation, project management, and communication skills.
