Forklift Operator
Summary Description:
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, and store materials. This role ensures efficient product flow while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
Essential Job Functions:
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, gloves, seatbelts).
- Operate forklifts and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, pallets, and production lines.
- Transport raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to designated areas.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipments, and receipts.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of materials within warehouse or production areas.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Follow all quality assurance procedures and report any product or equipment issues.
- Support production and warehouse teams to meet operational goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Required Skills:
- Experience operating forklifts in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Basic math and inventory tracking skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of workplace safety standards and procedures.
- Forklift certification may be required.

- Work Schedule: May include weekdays, weekends, nights, holidays, and overtime.
- Work Environment: Fast-paced warehouse or production facility with varying temperatures and noise levels requiring PPE.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent operation of forklift equipment.
- Capability to work in physically demanding conditions.
