Maintenance Supervisors

Someone who aims to keep their equipment in top operational condition. They manage routine maintenance, repairs and upgrades to reduce or completely prevent equipment failures and operational downtime.

Maintenance Supervisor job duties:

Coordinate and assign maintenance projects

Oversee ongoing maintenance programs, including routine maintenance, seasonal preparations, renovation projects and scheduled upgrades

Conduct regular inspections

Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, inventory, etc.

Create and adhere to an approved maintenance budget

Collaborate with third-party contractors and technicians as needed

Hire, train and supervise maintenance employees

Ensure safety compliance, including training staff on safety measures

Maintenance Supervisor skills and qualifications

Knowledge of commonly used maintenance equipment and materials

Experience with approved repair and installation techniques for various maintenance procedures, including best practices for HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical work

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Understanding of current safety regulations and protocols

Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and address malfunctions

Maintenance Supervisor experience requirements:

Experience in building maintenance, facility management or skilled trades. This may include past roles such as Maintenance Technician, Facilities Coordinator or Lead Hand, along with demonstrated ability to guide tasks, coordinate schedules or support a team.

Hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving a wide range of maintenance issues is essential. This can include routine fixes like tightening hardware or adjusting door alignment, as well as more

Technical repairs such as plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, light electrical.

Boiler and cooling tower experience a plus.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum of five years of job-related experience leading a small maintenance team.

Other Information

Workdays: Monday through Friday

Schedules may include overtime hours to meet the demands of plant operations.

No Travel Required

Five to seven years of maintenance experience including: hydraulics, electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, welding, pipe fitting and other related areas.

Supervisory experience preferred.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Understanding and knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures preferred but not required.

Comprehension of the English language, in both written and spoken form, is preferred.
