Utility Clerk

Location: Park Hills, MO
Pay: $16.29/hour
Full time Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4:30PM

PROMAN Staffing is hiring a Utility Clerk for a local municipality. This is a clerical/customer service position supporting utility billing, payments, and daily office operations.

This role requires strong attendance, attention to detail, and excellent customer service skills. You will be working directly with the public on a daily basis—professionalism, patience, and reliability are non-negotiable.

What you’ll do:

Greet customers and answer phones in a professional manner
Assist with utility accounts (new service, transfers, closings)
Answer questions about bills, balances, and service requests
Provide direct customer service to the community and resolve concerns appropriately
Receive and post payments accurately
Balance cash drawer and prepare daily deposits
Enter billing data, meter info, and account updates
Generate bills, late notices, and shut-off notices
Maintain accurate records and files
Coordinate with field staff and other departments
General office duties (filing, scanning, mail, reports)

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED
At least 1 year of office, clerical, customer service, or cashier experience preferred
Strong customer service skills required – this role involves direct interaction with the public daily
Comfortable handling cash and balancing receipts
Strong data entry and attention to detail
Good communication skills
Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
Must pass background check and drug screen
Must be 18+ with a valid MO driver’s license
